NFCU Online Banking FAQ's

How do I add an account that I do not see? How long does it take to add an account?

To add an account on which you are a joint owner, please perform the following steps:

  1. Click the ACCOUNT SERVICES tab
  2. On the left side of the page click ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  3. Click the green ADD NEW ACCOUNT button
  4. Input the full 13 digit account number
  5. Choose the appropriate account type
  6. Click SUBMIT, the process is immediate
  7. If you are not a joint signer, you will not be able to view the account through Online Banking

What is my temporary password if I have not logged into the new system (since 11/1/15)?

The last six digits of your Social Security Number or Business Tax Identification Number.

Why can't I change my sign-on ID?

There are several factors that are related to your sign-on ID. Because of this, changing it will cause you to lose key data.


How do change my password?

  1. Click on MY PROFILE at the top of the page or on the ACCOUNT SERVICE tab
  2. Click on the green CHANGE PASSWORD button
  3. Enter your current password and your desired new password

How current is my account information?

Your account information is updated in real-time.


What do I do if I don't know my password?

  1. Enter your sign-on ID and click ENTER
  2. Click the FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD? link to the right
  3. Follow the steps to enter your sign-on ID and email address
  4. You will receive a first email containing an OTP (One Time Password). Enter it in the box
  5. You will now receive a second email containing a temporary password. You will be prompted to create a new password to use at this point

How do set up Account Alerts?

  1. From the homepage, click the ALERTS link on the left
  2. Check the boxes for where you would like to receive alerts and save

    Note - in order to receive text alerts you must first enroll your mobile device through online banking and choose the option for text alerts

  3. Set up the alerts you want and click CREATE ALERT.

What type of alerts do you offer?

The alerts currently offered are:

  • when a check clears
  • when your available balance falls below or above your preset amount
  • when an ACH item occurs within your preset certain amount

 

Thank you for being patient with us while we expand our alerts feature. We will have an improved alert system in the first quarter of 2016.


How do I set up text alerts?

  1. From the homepage, click the ACCOUNT SERVICES tab at the top right
  2. Click the REQUESTS link on the left
  3. Click the MOBILE BANKING ENROLLMENT link
  4. If you do not see your actual phone number listed, click on ADD NEW DEVICE and follow the steps. Be sure to check the box for ALERTS
  5. See HOW DO I SET UP ACCOUNT ALERTS? to complete setting up alerts

Can I transfer money to another bank or credit union?

Yes this is done by using Bill Pay

  1. Click the PAYMENTS tab at the top of the homepage
  2. Click PAY YOUR BILLS
  3. Click TRANSFER MONEY on the left and follow the necessary steps

Can I change my address online?

This is currently not available. You may visiat a branch or call us at 225-819-2178 to process this request.


Why can't I access my Neighbors Online Banking account?

Please call us at 225-819-2178 so that we may further assist you.


How far back can I view transaction history?

You can view up to six months of transaction history.


How can I be sure I am the only one accessing my account?

There are security measures in place that check multiple factors and patterns to determine that only authorized users are access your information.


When will my emails be answered?

Emails will be answered by the end of the next business day.


What can I do with Online Banking?

You can view your account balances, transfer funds, pay your bills/people, and so much more.


What browsers are supported?

Currently Online Banking has been tested in the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer (including IE9 and 10).


Can I access my business account through my personal Online Banking?

You will need separate online banking profiles for personal and business account.


What time do scheduled transfers occur?

They occur daily at 6 PM. Transfers scheduled on holidays occur the day before.


How far back can I see E-statements?

You will be able to see up to six years of statement history.


How do I cancel my online banking?

Please contact Neighbors Federal Credit Union to perform this request. You can call us at 225-819-2178 or 866-819-2178. You can also send us a secure email through online banking.


Why does the system no longer recognize my sign-on ID?

If your sign-on ID prior to 10/30/15 contained special characters or 16+ characters, it was changed to your member number. If you war unsure of your sign-on ID, please contact Neighbors Federal Credit Union.


What if Neighbors Online Banking goes down? Will my transfers go through?

Transfers (including transfers to loans) will not go through. They will be retried on the following business day.


I am a joint-signer on a credit card. How do I see it in Online Banking?

This is currently not available. A solution to this should be available in the near future.
